The 14th season of Dancing With the Stars, as evenly-matched as it is entertaining thus far, rolled into its fifth week Monday with the top nine going ALL out.

Last week, which saw a nasty head injury to Melissa Gilbert and the elimination of Sherri Shepherd, did not lack for drama. What would this week’s act bring?

A lot of strong performances from a group of engaging characters capable of some high quality dancing. for sure. They always leave you wanting more!

Sadly, someone must leave each week. Who will it be this time?

American Idol Top 7 Recap: Who Was the Best?

The American Idol Top Seven performed songs from the last three years last night, and drew mostly praise from the three judges for their contemporary covers.

A couple of singers were still a bit underwhelming, though, making for what should be an interesting, unpredictable results show Thursday evening.

How did Skylar Laine, Colton Dixon, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Hollie Cavanagh, Phillip Phillips and Elise Testone do? Let’s find out …

Elise Testone has been a bottom three mainstay, but the judges are rooting for her after a rousing performance of Lady Gaga’s “You and I.”

How hard are they pulling for her?

“That was the perfect song for you,” said Randy Jackson, who declared Elise “back” and urged voters to finally recognize her talent. So pretty hard.

Skylar Laine opened the show with Kellie Pickler’s “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You,” earning praise for per perfect pitch throughout.

Randy said, “You’re going to have a hit with a song like that.”

Phillip Phillips was one of two contestants whose marks weren’t stellar. J. Lo was un-wowed by his take on Maroon 5′s “Give a Little More.”

“It wasn’t everything that I know that you can give us,” she says. Randy agreed: “I don’t know if it was that ‘wow’ kind of a moment.”

Colton Dixon said preparing a soulful version of “Love the Way You Lie” was his toughest task to date, but according to Steven Tyler, he nailed it.

“You are such a rare talent,” the rocker said. “You could have recorded that right now.” It was one of the more unique covers of the night.

Jessica Sanchez sang Jazmine Sullivan’s “Stuttering” and set the bar high. “You sing like nobody we’ve ever heard sing,” Jennifer said.

That’s high praise, and should be enough to carry her on.

Joshua Ledet danced and sang a high-energy version of Bruno Mars’s “Runaway Baby,” which earned a standing ovation from the judges.

Jennifer praised him for effort, which she said was “so dynamic, it takes control of the audience, it’s so much energy. It’s not just the vocals.”

Hollie Cavanagh‘s G-rated performance of Pink’s “F––kin’ Perfect” was lacking and may leave her singing a farewell song tonight, sadly.

“It wasn’t perfect but it was a lot better than it was last week,” Randy said, doing his best to console her. “You got to be proud of that.”

Dancing With the Stars Week 4: Who Was the Best?

The surprisingly entertaining and evenly-matched 14th season of Dancing With the Stars continued Monday with the top 10 performing Rock Week routines.

The first elimination of the season, Martina Navratilova, we could see coming. Last week, which saw the end of Jack Wagner’s run, was a different story.

A season that many criticized for lacking star power has made up for it with high quality dancing and engaging characters that all leave us wanting more.

Sadly, someone must leave each week, though there is a new twist …

DWTS Top 10 Season 14

For the next four weeks, the bottom two DWTS vote-getters will dance for their lives, simultaneously, with the judges making the final call on who stays and who goes.

That won’t do much could in cases like last week, when a six-way tie for the lowest score – which was really quite high – made it unfair for anyone to leave.

Still, the judges could bail out an obvious favorite if necessary. Will this rule change even come into play after this Monday’s routines? You tell us below …

Dancing With the Stars Week 3: Who Was the Best?

The 11 remaining contestants on Dancing With the Stars’ 14th season brought it again tonight in the third week of competition. Who stood out on the parquet?

One week ago, we bid farewell to Martina Navratilova, who finished at the bottom of the standings in each of the first two weeks. Not much controversy there.

Tonight, you knew the scores were likely to tighten up a bit.

DWTS Week 3

Coming into the third night of performances, the leaders (Jaleel White, William Levy and Katherine Jenkins) looked to bolster their frontrunner status.

The middle of the pack (Maria Menouno, Donald Driver, Sherri Shepherd, Jack Wagner) looked to make a love, while the rest just tried to stay safe.

Were they able to do that, or were there any big shakeups?

We’ll be back in the morning with videos of this week’s routines, but for now, sound off in the comments and with your votes below! Tell us:

Dancing With the Stars Week 2: Who Was the Best?

THG Presents: Best of Celebrity Marijuana Scandals!

Sorry, Armie Hammer. Your arrest for marijuana possession didn’t even make THG’s Top 10 favorite marijuana scandals … though it did inspire us to compile the list!

Note that there are plenty of pot smokers out there who don’t appear here simply because they haven’t been busted for their antics. We snub them, but they win!

Anyway, take a look at some recent stars involved in weed-related police matters below and vote for which celebrity stoner is your favorite …

Chace Crawford Mug ShotMatthew McConaughey mug shot

10. Chace Crawford / Matthew McConaughey (tie). The Texans tie for the 10 spot based on the classic mug shots taken after their respective arrests.

9. Snoop Dogg. Snoop’s arrest this month was about as shocking as … the #7 man on this list, who was also cited for possession in the same TOWN!

8. Jermaine Hopkins / Sam Hurd (tie). The Lean On Me star and Chicago Bears player may not be household names … but were big time DEALERS.

7. Willie Nelson. Seriously, just leave Willie alone cops.

Soulja Boy Mug ShotNew Brooke Mueller Mug Shot

6. Soulja Boy. Recently pulled over with his entourage carrying a bunch of weed, cash and a gun. All in one briefcase. Sometimes you gotta travel light.

5. Michael Phelps. Don’t hit the bong after winning a gold medal, kids.

4. Brooke Mueller. Charlie’s ex claims her infamous crack pipe incident merely involved weed. Even if you give her the benefit of the doubt, what a mess!

3. Jenelle Evans. Girl can’t go 24 hours without smoking up! Or getting arrested. At least some of her probation woes stem from positive drug tests.

2. Miley Cyrus. Our #2 scandal didn’t even involve weed, necessarily … but Miles totally smokes it, and who else could compete with this bong video!

1. DMX. The all-time king of celebrity mug shots is only slightly less known for his affinity for the sticky-sticky. Sometimes those things are related!

Best of The X Factor: From Tiah to Tora

The ratings may not have been what Simon Cowell dreamed about, but The X Factor delivered a number of impressive performances this week. Below, we rundown the contenders from an entertaining week that was:

Josh Krajcik. He didn’t have the look, but he had the right attitude and definitely the sound:

Drew Ryniewicz. A 14-year old Justin Bieber lover who – gulp! – may sound even better than her idol:

Tiah Tolliver. Said she wants to go “diamond.” We’re not sure what that means, but anything is possible with this voice:

Jazzlyn Little. What a great name, and an even better voice:

Brennin Hunt. He sang his own song. But the risk paid off:

Tora Woloshin. The look. The sound. The energy. Our favorite of the week:

Ben Affleck: What’s His Best Look?

Ben Affleck has proven himself as an actor and as a director.

But what about as a bearded man and as a man who is cleanly shaven?

That’s the question on tap for readers today, as the star is currently filming the movie Argo, which chronicles a life-and-death covert operation to rescue six Americans during the Iran hostage crises. Affleck’s role didn’t require him to shave. Lucky dog.
