She may not have been dating one of the game’s starting quarterbacks, but Jessica Simpson still made her presence felt at last night’s Super Bowl.
The pregnant singer Tweeted a photo of herself and a friend from their box at Lucas Oil Stadium, showing off her ample…. rooting interest in the following Twit pic:

Earlier in the week, Jessica had explained her support of the Patriots by saying fiance Eric Johnson was from Boston and: “I’m a Cowboys fan, so I cannot root for the Giants!”
Fair enough. But we all know why Simpson is a Cowboys fan, right? Not sure if Johnson would really want to hear that.

GLADD wants Roland Martin to be fired for his comments related to the David Beckham H&M commercial that aired during last night’s Super Bowl.
Conversely, Karl Rove and a few other Republicans are afraid that a different Super Bowl ad was created with the aim of getting President Barack Obama rehired.
The spot in question is narrated by Clint Eastwood and touts both Chrysler and the turnaround of the auto industry in Detroit, with the actor saying via voiceover: It’s “halftime in America and our second half’s about to begin.”
Might this be a veiled reference to a second term for Obama?
Rove believes so, pointing to Eastwood’s claim that Detroit “almost lost everything, but we all pulled together” and “now Motor City is fighting again” as support for the administration’s bailout of various companies in the area.
“I was, frankly, offended by it,” Karl Rove told Fox News this morning. “I’m a huge fan of Clint Eastwood, I thought it was an extremely well-done ad, but it is a sign of what happens when you have Chicago-style politics, and the president of the United States and his political minions are, in essence, using our tax dollars to buy corporate advertising.”
Michelle Malkin also took issue with what she referred to as an “auto bailout ad,” which is interesting only because Eastwood has typically been known as a strong conservative.
He even told the Los Angeles Times last year: “We shouldn’t be bailing out the banks and car companies. If a CEO can’t figure out how to make his company profitable, then he shouldn’t be the CEO.”
Watch the commercial above and decide: Great ad? Or great ad… with an agenda?

It didn’t get the attention of Kelly Clarkson’s national anthem or Madonna’s halftime show (both great), but Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed a beautiful rendition of “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl XLVI last night.
The married country stars did justice to the classic, often overshadowed by “The Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America,” but a wonderful tribute to our nation.
Watch their duet below:
After the Giants pulled off an insane comeback, Blake Shelton ran it back as one of the coaches/judges on NBC’s hit singing competition.

What would a Super Bowl halftime show be without a little controversy, right?
While all boobs remained in place, and no wardrobes malfunctioned, during the Madonna-based performance tonight, rapper M.I.A. – who joined The Material Girl and Nicki Minaj on stage for a rendition of “Give Me All Your Luvin” – is making headlines for the exposure of another body part.
She raised her middle finger to a NBC camera.

In a couple hilarious statements, the NFL first wrote of the gesture and image above:
“There was a failure in NBC’s delay system. The obscene gesture in the performance was completely inappropriate, very disappointing, and we apologize to our fans.”
This, naturally, led to a response from NBC, which reads: “The NFL hired the talent and produced the halftime show. Our system was late to obscure the inappropriate gesture and we apologize to our viewers.”
So, should M.I.A. get fined for the move? Of course. Not because it’s especially lewd, simply because it’s such an incredibly lame cry for attention.

An email sent by Gisele Bundchen to friends and family asking them to pray for Tom Brady before the Super Bowl has sparked widespread ridicule in New York.
The sappy Brazilian supermodel (and Brady’s wife) writes: “Dear sweet friends and family. This Sunday will be a really important day in my husband’s life.”
“I feel Tommy really needs our prayer, our support and love at this time.”
Excuse us while we vomit on cue.

“He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream.”
“So I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him, so he feels confident, healthy and strong before this Super Bowl. Envision him happy and fulfilled experiencing with his team a victory this Sunday.”
Boo hoo. As if being a handsome, multi-millionaire NFL legend who sees Gisele Bundchen nude weren’t enough, l’il “Tommy” needs positive thoughts to be confident, healthy and strong? Does Melinda Gates pray for Bill’s continued affluence?
Get outta town. This prayer is equally pointless because God was been waiting smack the Patriots down for eliminating Tim Tebow and His Broncos. Bank on it.
Not to mention, the Giants’ pass rush will inflict too much pressure on Brady, while Eli Manning has been playing out of his mind. The Giants also have Victor Cruz.
Sorry Gisele.

Jerry Seinfeld is so excited about the new Acura NSX that he will stop at nothing to acquire the very first one … at least in a Super Bowl ad airing Sunday night.
How far will Jerry go for the first new NSX, the debut of which is expected in the coming years? How does Jay Leno fit into this quest for automotive greatness?
Watch an extended version of the ad below …

File this under Lost Causes: The Catholic League is calling on the NFL to ban Madonna from performing at the Super Bowl, which she recently agreed to do.
Bill Donohue wrote to the NFL, saying they “would do well to drop any plans it may have about having Madonna perform during the Super Bowl.” Why?
Because in 2004, the NFL invited ‘N Sync’s JC Chasez to sing during the halftime of the Pro Bowl, only to rescind the offer due to some suggestive lyrics.
That was JC Chasez. This is Madonna.

“The NFL cannot expect Catholics to be treated any different,” the group writes. “For decades, Madonna has blatantly offended Christians, especially Catholics.”
“Her offensive lyrics, lewd behavior and misappropriation of sacred symbols are reason enough. Worse, Madonna has repeatedly ridiculed the heart and soul of Christianity: Jesus, Our Blessed Mother, the Eucharist and the Crucifixion.”
She also hates hydrangeas. Don’t forget that.
