Cam Newton won the NFL’s Rookie of the Year Award last year, but the prolific passer is now after something far more important.
An ongoing fan vote to determine who should grace the cover of wildly-poplar video game Madden ’13 is down to the Carolina Panthers quarterback and Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions.
And in an attempt to win over the masses, Newton has released a lengthy video, pleading to boys, girls, cat and dogs that he deserves the honor. On what grounds?
Well, he’s quite adept at the game, that’s for certain, giving fans a tour here of his multi-screen setup. His nicknames also include “Mr. Swagman” and “Mr. Goes H.A.M.” So he has that going for him.
Last season, Peyton Hillis of the Browns covered Madden… and proceeded to produce the worst season of his career. Careful of what you wish for, Cam.
Who do you want to see on the cover of Madden ’13?
Apparently Jessica Simpson’s naked, pregnant body on the cover of April’s Elle magazine has not been well received by those at Safeway supermarkets.
The attention-grabbing photo of Jessica Simpson nude has been covered up with pieces of cardboard and/or turned around, the Arizona Daily Star reports.
A spokeswoman for the grocery chain said it made the move to censor the cover following “multiple complaints” about the Fashion Star mentor’s photo.
Simpson said in an interview that that Demi Moore and Britney Spears-like fully nude, pregnant cover pic was all her idea. Well, and their idea. But in this case:
“They didn’t even ask me to do that,” she said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show. “It was my idea. It kind of just seemed a natural thing for me to do.”
“I’m like 170 pounds and I wanted to pose nude,” she explained.
“I try to be like 110. It’s funny to be at your heaviest and feel the most confident. I just take such pride in being a mom! I just love my body more than ever now.”
Kate Upton will grace the cover of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
The announcement was made by … the leaked cover below, first posted on TMZ.
A few of the issues arrived early to a gas station in Michigan (why that state got first dibs, who the heck knows) and the pics are already making the online rounds, as these things frequently seem to do. Check out Kate Upton’s SI swimsuit issue cover below:
Sports Illustrated originally planned to announce the 2012 swimsuit edition cover girl and the cover shot at an event tonight … and they still might. But here she is.
Kate Upton was recently rumored to be dating Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets. There’s no rumor about this, though: The 19-year-old (?!) is a stunner!
Upton made a sizzling debut in last year’s edition, but it’s safe to say this 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover will launch her into the stratosphere.
For those out there saying that the swimsuit issue has nothing to do with sports, annual issue also features athletes in body paint (i.e. Alex Morgan nude).
Some of the most beautiful and bad ass young female talents in Hollywood assembled to star in Vanity Fair’s annual Hollywood issue, and they look great.
Academy Award nominee Rooney Mara, The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska share the cover of the publication.
Check out their glam, old-school Hollywood look:
Famed photographer Mario Testino is responsible for the images, in which The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Mara still wears a hint of goth-ish lipstick.
Rooney could even pass for a stoic Lady Gaga at a glance!
Who else was featured as Vanity Fair‘s top talent of ’12?
Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins and Brit Marling all made the list of 11 lucky ladies recognized.
Here’s the complete roster of VF‘s Hollywood issue …
For the record, Taylor Lautner is not gay. It would be absolutely acceptable and far from a big deal if he were, but it simply isn’t the case.
However, for a few hours yesterday, many Internet users believed this Twilight Saga star had revealed an intimate detail on his life to People Magazine, due to the following fake cover, which leaked online:
Heck, music mogul Russell Simmons even Tweeted how he was “proud of Taylor Lautner for his bravery and his courage” after he saw the headline, later learning the whole thing was a hoax and adding:
“disappointed that people would joke about someone coming out about their sexuality. Let Taylor Lautner be whoever he wants to be…”
No word yet from Taylor’s camp, though the magazine has come out and said the issue is “fake.” So you may go ahead and continue to scream and dream over the actor, female members of Team Jacob. There remains the slimmest chance he might someday be yours.
Yes, Taylor Armstrong really is coming out with a memoir that details the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of late husband Russell Armstrong.
It will be titled “Hiding from Reality: My Story of Love, Loss and Finding the Courage Within,” and Taylor unveiled the book cover last night on Bravo:
“My book takes readers behind the glamour of Beverly Hills to show them the terrible violence I suffered, and the slow and painful process of rebuilding my shattered life,” Armstrong said in a statement. “I want readers in abusive relationships to learn from my suffering and use my book to help them find their own courage within.”
Yes, fellow abuse victims, you can learn a lot from Taylor, namely: if you are rich and famous and have a televised platform from which you can promote, you, too, can profit from the suicide of your estranged husband.
What do you think of Armstrong releasing this book?
Justin Bieber and friends are continuing their catchy assault on Christmas.
With the singer’s holiday album out tomorrow, Justin has been giving fans a taste of what’s to come via a few early releases. First, there was this duet with Usher. It was followed a couple days later by this collaboration with Mariah Carey.
Now, the Biebs has teamed up with iconic rapper Busta Rhymes in order to bust some rhymes on a remake of “Drummer Boy.” It’s definitely a different version than the one that’s been heard on the radio for so many years. Listen now and compare:
It seems like Emma Watson can do no wrong these days. Her look at the MTV Movie Awards last weekend was one of our favorites, and now she’ll be appearing on the July cover of Vogue!
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Watson seems like one of the most intelligent and genuinely humble young celebrities out there. This past December, Emma rocked her androgynous ‘do in a cream Valentino frock on the cover of Vogue UK. Fashionistareports that for her American Vogue cover, she’ll be wearing Prada — as excited as we are, let’s just hope that we get to see her in something other than a white dress. If history and Prada are any indicators though, we can expect great things from next month’s issue.
Andrej Pejic is a man. He appears on the cover of the newest issue of Dossier without a shirt on. However, since he’s a pretty man who sometimes gets mistaken for a lady, bookstores are censoring the less-than-risque cover.
