On Saturday night – the evening before this American Idol champion belted out the national anthem and Madonna performed at halftime of Super Bowl XVLI – Clarkson took to the stage in Louisiana and also took a few fan requests.
Among them? “Crazy for You” by the Material Girl herself, a track that Kelly adorably told the crowd reminded her of a date at the skating track with some dude named Michael Webb. Note to Michael Webb: we hope you regret letting this one go.
Watch and listen below as Kelly does Madonna very proud:
As far as we know, every celebrity with a personality did not die in some kind of freak accident last night.
Yet despite the availability of, oh, anyone else, Kim Kardashian sat in with Kelly Ripa as a guest host this morning on the latter’s talk show, at first making small talk about her skin; then trying to act like she watched last night’s Giants/49ers NFC Championship Game; and, finally, of course, touching on her divorce from Kris Humphries.
Kim acknowledged it’s been a “tough couple months,” adding the same nonsense she’s been spewing for weeks:
“Being a hopeless romantic, I wanted to believe in something so badly. If you think I really made all that money that everyone claimed we made on the wedding and that it was for TV… I’m a smart businesswoman, I would have stayed married longer… This was a bad business decision. I really didn’t think following my heart would create this much backlash.”
In this sense, we actually believe her. Kardashian hasn’t had an original thought in about 14 years.
For Derek Jeter, this is one double play we’re guessing he doesn’t mind hitting into.
All indications point to the Yankees superstar rekindling his romance with actress Minka Kelly, as witnesses tell Life & Style the pair are spending the holidays together in Paris. They were spotted at the Musée d’Orsay yesterday.
“They had a guide taking them around on the fifth floor, and they were looking at Monet and the works of other French impressionists,” a source tells the tabloid “They went to all the different floors; they looked at Van Gogh. Derek was very low-key and was wearing a black-and-gray sweater. Minka looked very pretty. She was wearing white jeans, a brown jacket and boots.”
Jeter and Kelly split in August due to their demanding schedules, but since then the latter’s remake of Charlie’s Angels has been canceled, giving her ample time to go deep into the hole with the iconic shortstop… if you know what we mean!
Demi Lovato and Kelly Clarkson took to the stage as a pair last night at Z100′s annual Jingle Ball concert in Madison Square Garden and delivered a heartfelt musical message to fans:
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas!
Could Demi match the first-ever American Idol note-for-note? Of course not. But who out there can?!? Sit back and let these two artist serenade you with a holiday classic now:
Earlier this week, police on the campus of the University of California-Davis used pepper spray to subdue protesting students. The maneuver – which you can watch on tape HERE – caused outrage across the Internet.
But Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly has no idea why.
“It’s like a derivative of actual pepper,” she actually said on air yesterday. “It’s a food product, essentially.”
Kelly acknowledged the video “looks bad,” as officers in riot gear unleashed the substance on a group of relatively calm individuals. But they didn’t really react, so might the cops have used a “diluted” version of the product, she wonders?
Beyonce Knowles announced she was expecting with husband Jay-Z at the MTV Video Music Awards in August. Then then re-confirmed that the pregnancy is not fake.
She’s remain mum on the child’s gender, however … but Kelly Rowland may have just spilled the beans. At an awards show Thursday night, she referred to it as a girl.
The former Destiny’s Child singer said: “I have no idea what I’m going to buy Beyonce at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible.”
Beyonce confirmed the pregnancy just before her VMA performance:
The mini Sasha Fierce, regardless of whether she is indeed a she, is due in February, and will be the couple’s first child. He/she will have some talented genes.
“I feel like it is time,” the singer said of her pregnancy. “I’m so happy.”
Someone who knows a thing or two about singing competitions performed on The X Factor UK last night.
Kelly Clarkson – who won season one of American Idol, has sold 22 singles around the globe and garnered two Grammys – rocked out with a rendition of “Mr. Know It All,” the lead single off her next album… which hits stores this week!
“I just had such a fun time on X Factor in London!! Thank you to all of the “Extreme Rhythm” drummers, my band, and the production team! What a fun performance! All of the judges and the contestants I met were so sweet. I wish good luck to all of you! A special shout out to my favorite judge and Texas girl @KellyRowland and contestant @samibrooks.”
The artist has given fans an early listen to a number of new tracks over the past week. We’ve collected each one in our Kelly Clarkson video section. Go watch now!
Kelly Clarkson is promoting the heck out of her upcoming album.
But the original American Idol isn’t posing for magazine covers or giving an unusual number of interviews. Instead, she’s actually giving fans a few free listens from “Stronger,” which comes out on October 24.
First, there was “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger).” Then, “You Love Me.” Now, let’s all sit back and listen to Clarkson croon on “Dark Side.” Everybody’s got a dark side, do you love me? Can you love mine? she asks below…
But the first-ever American Idol is coming out with a new album on October 24. It’s titled “Stronger,” a name taken from one of the singles featured on the CD and just released online this week by Clarkson.
“Hey ya’ll – I heard that some versions of ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’ started showing up online,” Clarkson blogged yesterday. “I want you to hear the real thing! Check it out!”
Kelly Bensimon is no longer a Real Housewife of New York City, having received her pink slip from Bravo (along with Alex McCord, Jill Zarin and Cindy Barshop) last week.
Following statements made by those ousted narcissists – Zarin is threatening another reality TV appearance, McCord and Barship are selling stuff – Bensimon has now spoken out for the first time about the life change.
“I’m so grateful for the overwhelming support I’ve received from all of you. I hope you enjoyed my run on the show,” Bensimon wrote on her website, adding mysteriously: “Stay tuned for I’m just getting started.”
Nope, sorry, Kelly. But we’re doing what every sensible TV viewer on the planet ought to be doing: turning the channel.
