Ray J was almost physically removed from the Billboard Music Awards last night after an angry confrontation with Whitney Houston’s family members.
Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law/manager, was seated next to Ray J, the person Pat believes was a very bad influence on the late music legend.
Minutes before a tribute to Whitney, in which Jordin Sparks sang and Bobbi Kristina Brown accepted an award, Pat asked her security to nix Ray J.
After Whitney’s ex-BF refused to budge, Pat’s security summoned hotel security, along with several uniformed officers to physically remove Ray.
Just before it got ugly, security warned Pat that things would likely get physical and it would almost be caught on video, just as Whitney was to be honored.
Sources say Pat then grudgingly recanted and Ray J stayed.
Later, Ray reportedly complained to friends about the incident, saying “Pat ruined what was a great opportunity to honor the woman who I loved.”
A rep for the Houston family later admitted they did ask Ray J to be moved from his seat because Billboard told them they needed that particular seat.
Ray J had a ticket with the proper seat number, so he refused to budge, and security was called, but the Houstons deny any lingering feud with Ray.

No more music video teases from Demi Lovato. The young superstar has come out with the real, full thing.
The 19-year is actually make-up free in the following video for “Give Your Heart a Break,” which is a track included on her hit album, “Unbroken.” How come?
“I want to put it out there and show that women can be independent on their own,” she tells E! News, which debuted the video. “I think that’s the best lesson that I’ve learned – to love myself before any other person.”
It’s a lesson we all can heed. Do so now as you check out Demi’s latest video below:
Justin Bieber may have written and recorded “Boyfriend” with Selena Gomez in mind, but the teenage singer’s girlfriend might not be happy to get a look at her man’s upcoming video.
A 20-second tease for the video has been released and in it Justin is standing alone, in the dark, belting out the lyrics… until a series of female hands start to caress his torso and his face. They’re everywhere!
Who knows what happens next, of course. Perhaps Justin leaves this enticing situation and finds comfort in the young woman about whom he’s promising to “be a gentleman” and “never let go.” We’ll find out soon when the full video takes over the Internet. For now, watch, enjoy and swoon:
Justin Bieber owes his fame and fortune to Usher, who discovered the Canadian singer based on a series of homemade YouTube videos.
Now, the teenage icon is returning the favor, hoping to become a mentor to a young woman named Carly Rae Jespen.
The Biebs helped sign Jepsen – last year’s runner-up on Canadian Idol – to Schoolboy Records, the label run by Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, after hearing the track “Call Me Maybe” on the radio.
“She’s gonna blow up,” Bieber said last week on his native country’s MuchMusic.
And he’s doing all he can to help with said blowing up, teaming with Jespen and a couple other friends – Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale – on the video for “Call Me Maybe.” Watch it here:
Her greatest single performance likely took place on a football field, as Whitney Houston is responsible for the most impressive, moving national anthem rendition in Super Bowl history.
But the iconic singer also sold over 200 million albums worldwide and collected six Grammy Awards. She’s one of the most successful female solo artists of all-time, paving the way for stars of today such as Mariah Carey and Rihanna.
Now, in the wake of her tragic passing, we present a video tribute to Whitney and ask readers for their fondest memories of the legend…
It’s a doubly great day to be an Adam Lambert fan today.
First, the singer announced that he would front an upcoming tour with the remaining band members of Queen, hitting up various arenas and stadiums in honor of late singer Freddie Mercury.
Now, Lambert has released the official music video for his latest single – off his soon-to-be-released album – “Better Than I Know Myself.” In it, we see two sides of the singer, as a pair of personalities square off; one is all dark and leather-y, the other calm, serene, sipping on tea even.
Poor Newt Gingrich. Already under siege from Super PACs, media members and politicians in the tank for Mitt Romney, guy is about to lose his own theme song!
The candidate is being sued by a company which owns the rights to Survivor’s 1982 hit “Eye of the Tiger,” for using the inspirational Rocky III tune at campaign events.
Rude Music Inc., owned by a member of Survivor, filed the suit against Newt for jacking the song to push a political agenda … that the band clearly isn’t a fan of.
Newt, who has surged into contention for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, has been using the song at various political events from 2009-present.
RMI claims Gingrich, along with his campaign team, Newt 2012, Inc., recently used the song during a campaign event in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, claiming:
“Mr. Gingrich entered the packed Moose Lodge for a speech as ["Eye of the Tiger"] ‘pulsed’ through the room, according to the the Newt 2012, Inc. website.”
Gingrich isn’t the first GOPer to be sued for using music – Jackson Browne sued John McCain for using “Running on Empty” in 2008 – and likely won’t be the last.
On the plus side, Ron Paul can use any Kelly Clarkson song he wants.
