It’s a doubly great day to be an Adam Lambert fan today.
First, the singer announced that he would front an upcoming tour with the remaining band members of Queen, hitting up various arenas and stadiums in honor of late singer Freddie Mercury.
Now, Lambert has released the official music video for his latest single – off his soon-to-be-released album – “Better Than I Know Myself.” In it, we see two sides of the singer, as a pair of personalities square off; one is all dark and leather-y, the other calm, serene, sipping on tea even.
Poor Newt Gingrich. Already under siege from Super PACs, media members and politicians in the tank for Mitt Romney, guy is about to lose his own theme song!
The candidate is being sued by a company which owns the rights to Survivor’s 1982 hit “Eye of the Tiger,” for using the inspirational Rocky III tune at campaign events.
Rude Music Inc., owned by a member of Survivor, filed the suit against Newt for jacking the song to push a political agenda … that the band clearly isn’t a fan of.
Newt, who has surged into contention for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, has been using the song at various political events from 2009-present.
RMI claims Gingrich, along with his campaign team, Newt 2012, Inc., recently used the song during a campaign event in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, claiming:
“Mr. Gingrich entered the packed Moose Lodge for a speech as ["Eye of the Tiger"] ‘pulsed’ through the room, according to the the Newt 2012, Inc. website.”
Gingrich isn’t the first GOPer to be sued for using music – Jackson Browne sued John McCain for using “Running on Empty” in 2008 – and likely won’t be the last.
On the plus side, Ron Paul can use any Kelly Clarkson song he wants.
Taylor Swift has come out with the official video for her fifth track of the platinum album, “Speak Now.”
The superstar has said she had a “very definitive” vision for what she wanted to do with “Ours,” and director Declan Whitebloom was all too happy to abide by the advice of the singer/songewriter, he told E! News:
“When Taylor says, ‘I’ve got an idea,’ you listen to what she’s gonna say. And so I did, and it was a great idea – and I loved it!”
In the video, Swift takes on the role of an office worker having a no good, terrible, very bad day… until she remember that there’s a special someone on whom she can count. And he’s played by former Friday Night Lights quarterback Zach Gilford! Watch it below:
The mega star has released yet another music video off the album “4,” this one in honor of “Dance for You,” one of three bonus tracks featured on the deluxe version of the CD. Watch below, as Mrs. Jay Z slinks around on a desk and goes all noir for her fans. It’s sexy stuff…
Jennifer Lopez made like Britney Spears at last night’s American Music Awards, donning a revealing, nude-colored outfit during a performance that combined hits “Until It Beats No More,” “Papi” and “On the Floor” into a single fun medley.
The look resembled Britney’s buzzed-about costume at the 2000 MTV VMAs, but the sound and the movements were 100% J. Lo.
Upon accepting the trophy for Favorite Latin Artist, Lopez told the crowd that “it’s been a really amazing year in so many ways. It’s been up and down and just exciting and overwhelming.”
Sounds a lot like her performance. Take it in now:
Attention, Beliebers: Justin Bieber, and free speech advocates everywhere, need your help.
The 17-year old star is at the center of a campaign – aptly titled Free Justin Bieber – initiated by Fight for the Future, a fair-use advocacy group that’s urging citizens to vote against congressional law S.978.
What the heck is congressional law S.978?
It’s a rule that would make it illegal for individuals to stream/use copyrighted music in an online video. And where does Bieber come into this debate?
He was discovered by Usher via a homemade YouTube video of himself covering a handful of R&B hits. If this law is passed, such an act might result in a prison stint. Instead of a record deal.
“Tell Congress to get a clue and stop trying to jail people for singing,” the organization says in a statement, asking folks to sign its online petition. “Congress has no business making ordinary Internet users criminals for expressing themselves online.”
“Ladies & gents, I’m excited to present to you the music video for Criminal, one of my favorite songs off of Femme Fatale. Enjoy!”
“Criminal” was shot in London and directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, who also did Brit’s “I Wanna Go” video. She’s been criticized for the violence depicted in the video, which you can watch and share your comments on right here:
Let’s take a break from analyzing the personal life of Jennifer Lopez, shall we?
Divorce or no divorce, new relationship with Bradley Cooper or 100% single, J. Lo is one of the most entertaining stars out there. She proved that over the weekend as one of the numerous acts to take the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.
The 42-year-old performed a set that included “Get Right, “Jenny On the Block,” “Let’s Get Loud,” “Ain’t It Funny,” “On the Floor” and her latest, “Papi.” Check out her rendition of final track listed now:
Maybe whomever Kim Kardashian has working behind the scenes trying to buy the rights to her sex tape can negotiate some sort of two-for-one deal.
Another video of hers that she’d rather forget is making the rounds, and while there are no shots of Ray J ransacking that booty, it’s still pretty sensual.
Earlier this year, Kim released a song in a hilarious bid to break into the music industry. She even shot a music video that was never released … until now.
Watch 55 seconds of stunning visuals from the amazingness that is “Jam (Turn It Up)” below. The audio is quite forgettable, but that’s always true of Kim:
Chris Brown flew through the air. Beyonce made a major announced AND performed on stage. And Lady Gaga channeled her inner Jo Calderone.
