Living legend Bruce Springsteen kicked off the 54th Grammy Awards on Sunday with his latest single, the patriotic anthem “We Take Care of Our Own.”
Backed by the E Street Band, Springsteen’s energetic effort left his fans – including a very enthusiastic Lady Gaga – on their feet dancing and cheering.
Not bad for a 62-year-old.
The first single off of his upcoming album Wrecking Ball, “We Take Care of Our Own” embodies many of close-to-home themes that have made the New Jersey native a working class hero to many. Watch the Boss of Rock n’ Roll do his thing below:
As LL Cool J said afterward, right before his prayer for Whitney Houston, Bruce and his music always have a way of speaking to our times.

If he had had his way, Hugh Hefner would have exchanged vows with Crystal Harris in the summer of 2011.
But the Playboy founder says he won’t be making that same mistake in the new year, telling People this week that he “dodged a bullet” when Harris dumped him days before their scheduled June wedding.
“I am clearly not meant to be married,” the 85-year old said. “Married life isn’t for me.”

Don’t cry for Hef, however. He’s far from lonely.
The bachelor refers to his latest girlfriends, Shera Berchard and Anna Berglund, as “special ladies” and told the magazine he’d be “on top of my game” in 2012. It’s unclear which of those women he’s nicknamed game.
